Syriac alphabet

- Letter abdĹĽadowe adapted to write the Semitic languages, derived from the areas of Syria. Used for exa mple by the Nestorians in missionary activity, including among th e Uighur population in the areas of East Turkestan. Syriac alphab et has the letters shown in the table. Some of the letters have a different form used at the end of the word: These forms are shown in the table below the base form. Note: The table is sorted the letters from left to right. 1 After Dalat, or RES, alap usually takes the form of basic, not the final.
